Do you have what it takes to become America's next top model? Saturday is your chance to prove it. And you never know what could happen -- one aspiring model who came to the Grand Junction auditions in March got the call and met with the show's producers.
Grand Junction native Taylor Stone says it took some convincing from her sister just to get her to the Wax It Salon to try out for "America's Next Top Model." The recent BYU grad says she did some modeling in college, but was virtually inexperienced when she went through the audition process that day.
"I left and never thought another thing about it," said Stone. "I just figured they're not looking for someone like me."
As it turns out, she was wrong. A few weeks later, Stone got the call of her life. The show's producers said they wanted her to come to LA and meet with them.
"I was like oh my goodness, are you kidding me?" said Stone. "Little small town Colorado girl, they want her in LA?"
So she packed her bags and made the trek to LA along with 199 other girls who also got the call. Much to Stone's surprise, by the end of the day, she had made it to the top 20.
"They pulled the last twenty of us aside and they said we'll start making calls in four to six weeks to see if you made it into the top fifty on the show," said Stone.
Unfortunately for Stone, four to six weeks went by and there was no phone call for her this time. Even though she didn't make the final cut, she says her experience has only increased her drive to pursue her modeling dream.
And for all those girls hoping for a chance to make their dreams come true Saturday, she has some advice.
"I was in the same place and I thought I didn't have a chance and look how far I got," said Stone. "I got down to the last twenty in LA, so I say go for it and give it all you've got."
Auditions will run from 9:00am to 5:00pm. If you're planning on trying out, you'll need to bring with you a completed application form and copies of two forms of ID. You'll also need to bring three photos of yourself including a head shot, a full body shot, and a full body shot in a swimsuit.
Only the first 125 girls in line are guaranteed an audition. For more information and a full list of eligibility requirements, click on the link below.
