Mark Irvin's sitting in a shopping cart-a-thon finally paid off at noon today, when he reached his fundraising goal of $10,000.

Irvin sat a shopping cart outside of Safeway on F Road in Grand Junction for 53 hours straight.

During that time, he also allowed hair stylists to bid on shaving his head, and for $200, is now bald.

Irvin says he's thankful for the help of his support staff, and for the generosity of the people of Grand Junction.

His $10,000 will go toward helping children on the Western Slope fight Muscular Dystrophy.

Irvin did the fundraiser on his vacation.
