The sound of shattered glass caused a disturbance at the Mesa County Detention Facility Sunday night.
Shortly after 11:00 p.m., inmates and staff heard glass breaking. The result was a shattered hole in the glass.
Sergeant Chris Franz explained that right now officials believe rocks were thrown at the window. The windows are made of a very thick glass, but safety of the inmates and staff inside was jeopardized.
Officers will look at surveillance video to determine exactly what happened and who was involved.
