Officers in Montrose responded to a burglary alarm last night and ended up getting attacked.

Two officers from the Montrose Police Department responded to a business on south hillcrest drive. When they entered the building, one of the officers was attacked by a 17 year old boy. The officer shot his gun during the incident, but did not hit the suspect.

The officer was treated and released from the hospital.. The 17 year old was taken into custody.

The Seventh Judicial Critical Incident Team has been called out to investigate the shooting. The team will submit a report to the DA'S office and that office will make the decision as to whether the firing of the gun was justifiable.
