The auctioneer's block is where the hours of hard work and sweat pay off and for Brand Little John this years fair was is where it all came together. "This is my first year to have a grand champion," says, Brand Little John. Little John prepped his lamb, Turbo, for a good portion of the day.

We brought him out here, we sheared him some more and we washed them some more then we showed," says, Little John. And for Little John, showing his lamb is the hardest part. "Well, I'm blind in my left eye, or my right." Little John means his right, our left.

As his mother explains, it's something Brand has been dealing with his whole life. "We found out he had a brain tumor when he was nine months old," says Mrs. Little John. The tumor formed behind his retina in his right eye and was inoperable, so Little John underwent chemotherapy. When Little John turned five-years-old the tumor returned, which resulted in another round of chemo. Vision in Little John's left eye is 20/400, this makes showing his lamb a bit more difficult.

Little John says, "'cause sometimes I don't know where the judge is and I don't seem as good as other people." But it was this year Little John stepped up to the challenge, and even though brand doesn't show it his mother says he is really excited. "This is what he is able to do. A lot of other kids have sports and different things that they're able to do, Brand doesn't, this is what he is good at, this is what he enjoys doing."
Now, Turbo, a Suffix lamb is up for sale to the highest bidder, a bitter sweet moment for Little John. "At the very, very, very, end you get really attached cause he really gets really lonely and then he really wants a friend," says Little John. Little John's mom says she plans on getting him two sheep to show next year.
