Mesa County Sheriff Officials are investigating a discovery of human remains found in the Region. They are working closely with the Mesa County County Coroner's office for identification purposes.

Friends and family of Paige Birgfeld say they can't help but wonder if the remains are hers.

Connie Flukey with the Jennifer & Abby Recovery Foundation says she hopes it is Paige so that the family can have closure.

Frank Birgfeld tells 11 News he wants to find Paige but he would rather find her alive.

The Sheriff's Office says it does not know how long its investigation will take.
