National Night Out gives neighbors a chance to get to know each other, share comments and concerns, and become more aware of possible crime in the area.

It is also a great way to "re-charge" your neighborhood and a great way to make new friends. National Night Out is a long tradition that occurs throughout the United States.

The event was introduced to America in 1984 by the National Association of Town Watch, a nonprofit, crime prevention organization that works with citizen-led watch groups and law enforcement agencies throughout the country. In 2006, more than 34 million people from all 50 states got involved.

NNO has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation.
