If temperatures climb past 90 degrees today Grand Junction will tie a record set back in 19-01.
The current record is 51 days in a row of temperatures at or above 90 degrees, and it looks like we will have no problem breaking that record. It was so hot Sunday that the temperature was still at 89 degrees at ten p-m.
The national weather service in Grand Junction has kept official climate records for the last 116 years.
Denver is also on a heat streak. The city has currently had 22 days in a row of 90 degrees or above breaking a previous record of 19 days. Denver is also on track to have its driest year ever, surpassing the worst drought in state history in 2002.
