After a life of hardship and dedication to saving lives, a scholarship fund was established Monday morning to remember Mary Elizabeth Dolan.

The thirty thousand dollar scholarship will be given to a Mesa State nursing student.

Dolan graduated from the program decades ago, but was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and was forced to care for her six kids when her abusive husband left her.

The scholarship will go to a single student. The money should cover half of the tuition for their college career.

Dolan's son helped raised the money, and says his mother would be proud of this endowment.
