BRIGHTON, Colo.- Prosecutors have filed first-degree murder and sexual assault charges against a 23-year-old man in the disappearance of a Pueblo woman.
Charges were filed in Adams County District Court Thursday against Christopher Adam Waide. He hasn't entered a plea.
Waide was arrested June 12 in the disappearance of 19-year-old Lea Chali Porter.
Porter was last seen while visiting a friend or friends in the Denver suburb of Westminster. Her body hasn't been found, but Westminster police have said Waide is cooperating in the search.
Investigators have said Waide and Porter attended the same high school and recently reconnected on Facebook.
Waide is scheduled to appear in court Friday to be formally advised of the charges. He also faces a charge of evidence tampering.
