Moore Guilty of Murder
Brandon Moore, the man accused of beating his two year old stepson to death, is found guilty of first degree murder and child abuse resulting in death.
Moore was the prime suspect in the July 2007 death of Logan Acord.
On Thursday morning, after less than twenty-four hours of deliberation, a jury of seven women and five men handed down the verdict.
Moore was sentenced to life in prison as well as forty-eight years in prison, to be served out concurrently.
Mesa County District Attorney Pete Hautzinger says he considered the evidence and testimony by doctors against Moore to be "pretty convincing stuff".
The Acord family, including Logan's mother Stacey, grandmother Pam, and grandfather Mitch say they plan to put forward their grief into local child abuse prevention programs.
