Lands End Hill Climb
Lands End Road up to the Mesa is full of hairpin turns and steep drop offs, so what better idea than to drive it as fast as you can?
If you don't have a lead foot, need not apply at the annual Lands End Hill Climb.
Drivers in all types of vehicles, including stock cars, sprint cars, champ cars, ATVs, rock crawlers and in rally cars barrel up the hill at speeds of up to 110 miles per hour!
The course is 5.2 miles long, often along cliffs, and full of twists and turns.
Some contenders have even made it up the course in less than five minutes.
The Lands End Hill Climb is put on every year by the Colorado Hill Climb Association.

This is truly a home-grown, grassroots type of racing, with most of the cars purpose-built in home garages. We don’t do it for the money, (there is none!) but more for the thrill of the sport, the camaraderie, and the hope of a hill record for our class. The amount of driving talent represented the day you were there is amazing. The skill and car control of these individuals truly demonstrate the love for the sport of auto racing, and Grand Junction is a great place to do this. Several of the cars in our Rally class were also displayed on Friday the 15th at the local Grand Junction Subaru dealership, and we generated a lot of interest in the cars and the Land’s End event. Hopefully more people will see your footage and will want to come next year. Thanks for bringing our sport to the forefront in Grand Junction! It was very nice to meet you, and we hope to see you next year.
