Lonnie Herrera, the man who shot and killied his ex-girlfriend in front of her children, has been sentenced to more than 100 years behind bars.
On March 30, 2008 Herrera shot his eight and a half month pregnant girlfriend Anna Macias in the neck while two of her four children watched.
Emergency crews delivered the baby via emergency c–section, but the little girl died two days later.
In June, Herrera entered a guilty plea to second degree murder as part of a plea deal with the District Attorney's Office.
Both sides wanted to avoid making Macias' children testify.
Herrera also pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon by a previous offender with a sentence of six years and four other habitual criminal charges.
The District Attorney's Office will drop all other charges.
Macias' family says even Herrera's likely life sentence is not enough.
Herrera was on parole when he was arrested for beating Macias just two weeks before the shooting.
