Cleanup Of a Landmark

Members of the 126-year-old Handy Chapel in Grand Junction came together on Labor Day to fix up the aging church and enjoy each others company.

The Dickey family has called the Chapel at the intersection of 2nd and White streets home for generations. Leading the way is 82-year-old Josephine Dickey who has been attending the church almost her entire life. She says she is thrilled to come together with family and friends today celebrating the church she worships at each week.

The church is know for lots of charity work throughout the County, from donating money to high school graduates to providing support for people who are hurting financially, the chapel even provides mass to five different religious denominations.
