Studies show that children who are read to in the home and who use the library perform better in school and are more likely to continue to use the library as a source of lifetime learning.
With your library card, in addition to checking out books, movies, music and audio books, you can sign up for free computer classes and use the Internet and informational databases. National Library Card Sign-Up Month began in 1987.
All seven Mesa County Libraries locations recently received Play Station 2s for teen use and many have regularly scheduled times for teen and child activities.
For more information on how you can sign up for your library card, visit any Mesa County Libraries branch, call 243-4442 or see the library’s web site at www.mcpld.org.
