Plane Crashes in Garfield County, Two Feared Dead

Garfield County officials have confirmed a small plane has crashed in the far west end of the county.

A spokesperson with the Garfield County Sheriff's Office says just after 3:00 Sunday afternoon, they received a report of a plane down near Baxter Pass.

At this time, they say they believe there were two people on board the plane and that neither one survived the crash. The Garfield Coroner is en route to the scene to confirm and identify the victims.

Officials had no specific details on the aircraft, just that it was a small plane.

Mesa County Sheriff's deputies and Garfield County Sheriff's deputies are on scene.
