SHERIFF'S OFFICE: Father Arrested For Death of Teenage Son

Last night, at 9:53 p.m., deputies responded to a residential home at 3045 Wedgewood Drive, Grand Junction. On scene, deputies found one deceased male inside the home. Allen Lee Grabe, 51, was arrested overnight by Sheriff’s Investigators and charged with first degree murder and child abuse resulting in death, in connection with the death of his teenage son.


A teen was reportedly shot and killed allegedly by his father around 10 p.m. Thursday night.

11 News has learned that Allen Lee Grabe, has been booked into the Mesa County Jail on charges of homicide, he is also the owner of the home. The mother of the teen and others on scene were taken in by investigators for questioning.

11 News talked to neighbors on scene who say they heard gun shots and saw the father outside with a gun.

The Sheriff's office is not confirming anything at this point. The Mesa County Coroner and investigators were on scene all night long trying to piece together what happened. The only information officials could confirm is that someone had died inside the home located on Wedgewood Ave.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
