Update: Police Seek Second Vehicle in Attempted Kidnapping

Police are still looking for three men who they say tried to kidnap an 11 year old on her way to school Tuesday morning. They are sweeping the parking lot at Mesa State College looking for the suspect's truck and have a new lead.

Along with looking for a red full sized pick–up truck, investigators are also looking for a newer black Suburban with what's described as fancy rims and a fancy stereo system. Officials say the two vehicles may have been seen together in the Lincoln Park Area on Monday. They also say one of the suspects may have been seen in the car in the day's before the attempted kidnapping.

Police also say the red pickup truck's license plate may have the number six on it and the plate is not the traditional green and white Colorado plate.

On Tuesday morning police say the 11-year-old girl was walking on 13th St., just south of Orchard Ave when three men in a full-size, red, quad cab pickup with a sticker in the back window, approached her and told her they wanted to give her a ride to school. The men then stopped the pickup and at one point tried to pull her inside.

The girl was able to get away and ran home. The men in the pickup left the area. Here are the suspects’ descriptions:

- White male, 6 feet tall, with short blonde hair, wearing blue jeans and a red jersey
- White male, with short brown spiky hair, wearing Nike shoes and a black hoodie sweatshirt
- White male, with a “skater” haircut (longer bangs parted in the front), wearing a blue sweatshirt and a ball cap

All three are estimated to be either high school or college age.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 242-6707.
