A Littleton man has withdrawn his not guilty plea in connection with the death of his ex-girlfriend's daughter.

Thirty-two-year-old Charles McEachern is charged with felony child abuse resulting in death. The former Grand Junction resident had pleaded not guilty in July.

Authorities say McEachern was baby-sitting 3-year-old Miranda Baca in June 2006 while the child's mother, his girlfriend at the time, was at work. The girl was later taken to a hospital with serious injuries, and died that day.

An autopsy indicated the girl died from blunt force trauma to the head.

McEachern is due back in court Oct. 8.
