Grand Junction, Colo. (AP) An 18-year-old inmate in a Grand Junction detention center has been re-arrested for allegedly trying to kill another inmate by stabbing him with a pencil.
Tyler Allen Adkins faces charges of attempted murder and criminal attempt. Authorities say he had been feuding with a 16-year-old inmate for months before the alleged assault in a shower.
Authorities say Adkins told them he was aiming for the other teen's neck but stabbed him in the arm.
Adkins has been transferred to the Mesa County Jail and is being held in lieu of $150,000 bond.
