Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting His Daughter with Liquor Bottle

A 27-year-old man is behind bars after authorities say he sexually assaulted his young daughter with a small liquor bottle.

11 News has chosen not to use the man's name or picture to protect the young victim in this case.

According to an arrest warrant, the man had been drinking in his bedroom while his daughter was with him. He then allegedly took a 50 milliliter bottle of Jim Beam and penetrated her with it.

The man faces multiple felony charges including sexual assault on child, aggrevated incest, and sexual assault on a child younger than 15 by a person in a position of trust.

He is currently in the Mesa County jail on a $25,000 bond.

$25,000? That's ridiculous. He should be being held on at least $500,000 bond. Are they serious? That is like giving him a slap on the wrist and telling him that it's not that serious. What if he gets out and commits a more heinous crime (if there is one) next time? I am outraged. I personally know a juvenile who made a joke with one of his friends about a bomb on a bus and he was held on $75,000 bond. He didn't even have a bomb. Where is the justice? What is this telling the community? That it is okay for someone to molest their own kid but a teenage boy can't even have a sence of humor anymore? What about that little girl? She is going to be scarred for the rest of her life and all the courts can hold him on is $25,000. Where is the protection? I'm disgusted with the judicial system. Like I said, this is ridiculous.
