Christmas Tree Permits May Cost More

Cutting down your own Christmas tree might cost you a few extra bucks this year.

The U.S. Forest Service has proposed bumping up the cost of a Christmas tree permit from $8 to $10.

Officials say they need to increase fees to be in line with what the BLM and White River National Forest charge for their permits. They say they have worked hard to keep the increase to a minimum.

Officials say the money they receive from permits stays here locally to help cover administrative costs.
