One Man Stabbed, Another Arrested in Downtown Bar Fight

A bar fight gone bad left one man stabbed and another behind bars.

The Grand Junction Police Department says just after 10:30 Friday night, it received a report that a massive fight had broken out in the alley behind Quincy Bar, with about ten people involved.

Officers say at some point during the brawl, 24-year-old Dennis Doyle pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed another 24-year-old in the stomach. By the time officers arrived on scene, most of the group had scattered.

Officials say the victim was taken to St. Mary's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, was treated and released just hours later.

Officers found Doyle in the area and arrested him on charges of second degree assault. He is currently being held in the Mesa County Jail and his bond has not been set.
