As Grand Junction continues to struggle with a doctor shortage one new practice hopes to fill that need with a west meets east philosophy.
Doctor Scott Rollins spent three years bringing together doctors from different practices under one roof at the Integrated Medicine Center off Patterson Road near the mall.
Dr. Rollins says, "There are a lot of areas where western medicine can not complete the picture."
So Rollins incorporated doctors from non–traditional practices. "Next door we got Dr. Lepisto, who is the Naturopathic doctor, acupuncture and massage offices across the room. Either one of those two specialties they may more have the right answer than I do. Or it might be that each of us has a third of the answers."
To help patients find the right from of treatment between the various practices and keep doctors on the same page the center employs a navigator in the form of nurse practitioner Cindy Neal. "Its been really exciting a great bunch of people we are all united around the common theme of working for what's best for clients and promoting wellness."
Advantage employs nutritionists, behaviorists and a laser aesthetics professional.
Advantage Integrative Medicine is holding a grand opening Wednesday at their office (2470 F Road) from four to seven in the afternoon.
