Local Debate Turns Ugly!
The debate for new Mesa County Commissioners took a turn for the worst, when one of the candidates storm off the stage in protest. Dickey Lewis threw his hands up and walked out of the Mesa County Courthouse after incumbent Commissioner Janet Rowland said he and candidate Dan Robinson should be ashamed of themselves for saying the county's energy master plan does not exist.
"Shame on you Dan, and shame on you Mr. Lewis, shame on you both," said Rowland.
"I've had enough, I'm not stay for this," replied Lewis and he exited immediately. Outside of the council chambers he was still steamed, "No one's going to call me a liar to my face and have me sit next to her very quietly. That is just not going to happen. Not after what she said about how nice I have been. She, in one breath, says Dickey is not saying anything about me and turns around and calls me a liar. I'm gone."
