Gas Prices Falling in Grand Junction
There's more relief at the pump this week as gas prices continue to fall.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Bradley-Sinclair station near 25 Road and F Road was selling regular unleaded gas for $2.73 a gallon.
Most of the other stations around town are charging between $2.75 to $2.86 a gallon.
Experts attribute the price breaks at the pump to the falling price of crude oil.
According to new AAA statistics, the average price of a gallon of regular gas is $2.93. Diesel fuel is higher at $3.63 a gallon, but it's still more than a dollar down from where it was this summer.
The highest average cost Coloradans have seen this year for a gallon of regular unleaded gas was $4.09 back in July. Grand Valley residents say they never imagined just a few months later, gas prices would be down more than $1.30.
"I like it and I think it's great," said Grand Junction resident Dustin Osborn. "It's amazing it's dropped so low."
"It's really good," said Grand Junction resident Erica Furnace. "I can go to Target like I planned and spend more money because I'm saving on gas."
Experts say taking a look a national trends, it's still possible for gas prices to fall even further in the near future. The Lundberg survey shows the average price of a gallon of regular gas has gone down 35 cents in the past two weeks.
