Mesa County Election officials say since early voting started, an average of 900 voters have turned out each day. That includes early voters as well as mail in ballots.
There are five locations for early voting: the Mesa Mall, the old County Court House, Mesa County Fairgrounds, Clifton Community Hall and the Fruita Police Department. The last day for early voting is October 31st.
Mesa County Clerk and Recorder, Janice Rich, says, "the sooner people vote, their mail in ballots and get those back to us and of course early voting we will be able to let you know what those results are right after seven p.m. on election night."
The United States Postal Service is asking anyone who hasn't yet mailed in their ballots to do so before October 31. They also say don't mail those ballots on November third or fourth, just take them into your county election office. In this case those locations are the old Mesa County Courthouse and the DMV at the Mesa Mall.
