Fire Destroys Family's Home as Family Members Watch

A house fire causes hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage and leaves a family without a place to call home.
Home owner Misty Sartain fell to her knees and cried upon seeing her burned home Saturday afternoon.

The Grand Junction Fire Department responded to the call just before three o'clock. Home owner Brady Sartain was home at the time of the fire. He escaped the home but fire crews treated him on scene for minor smoke inhalation.

The Sartain's grandmother, Janet Forsgren, lives next door and says at first it looked like steam coming from the house.

Fire crews are still investigation the cause of the fire nobody was seriously injured during the fire. The American Red Cross has been called to assist the Sartain family. Damage to the home is estimated at $250,000 and the home is considered a total loss.
