Two men are in custody this morning after an overnight stabbing in Orchard Mesa.
Deputies say the stabbing happened just before midnight, In the 28-hundred block of Durango Dr. They say the incident occurred in the garage behind the home.
The victim's parents were home at the time, and they put in the call to 911. Shortly after deputies and police arrived on scene. Heather Benjamin with the Mesa County Sheriff’s said deputies and police began asking neighbors questions and looking for any clues, "deputies are canvassing the neighborhood with the Grand Junction Police Department in an effort to find anything or look for anything suspicious as well as the K-9 unit who may be able to track a scent from the suspect when, when he left"
The victim is a 22 year old male. He was rushed St. Mary’s Hospital with multiple stabbing wounds to his head and his body. Deputies say his condition is stable and his injuries are not life threatening.
Deputies investigated multiple persons of interest overnight, and this morning, say the two men they arrester are considered 'acquaintances' of the victim.
