After being shot down by the city's planning commission in August, City Council is calling on them to reconsider a conditional use permit for a proposed gentlemen's club.
The club proposed to open up at 2258 Colex Drive in the western part of the city is zoned correctly, but under the planning commission's ruling could not earn more than 25 percent of its income from the sale of alcohol.
Mayor Gregg Palmer says that the decision is being called upon because the commissioners referred to Grand Junction as a big neighborhood and he says it is a city and a business cannot be shot down because some people feel that it doesn't "fit in".
Palmer says that this time around the commission needs to consider the alcohol issue and not the nature of the business.
