School District 51 took the first steps towards bringing an elementary school to Glade Park.
During Tuesday night's school board meeting, the board unanimously voted in favor of a resolution to move foward with a Glade Park school.
The resolution lays out different timelines and conditions that the Glade Park group behind the project must meet, before the school is given the final green light.
If those requirements are met, the group hopes to have a K-2 school open in 2010 or 2011, which would eventually become a K-5 school.
Students in Glade Park would get to choose if they wanted to attend the new school or not.
