Fort Collins, Colo. (AP) Republican Congresswoman Marilyn musgrave is blaming her election defeat on “vicious attacks and lies” by left-wing special interests.
Musgrave made the remarks in robo-calls sent Monday to voters in Georgia, where republican Senator Saxby Chambliss was in a runoff against democrat Jim Martin. Chambliss won re-election in the runoff this evening.
It's believed to be Musgrave's first public comment since Democrat Betsy Markey defeated her on November 4th.
In the calls, Musgrave says special-interest groups overwhelmed her campaign with big donations and “smothered the truth with vicious attacks and lies.”
She warns that “pro-abortion radicals and liberal activists” are trying to do the same in Georgia.
The calls were reported Tuesday on the web site of the Fort Collins Coloradoan.
