Nothing hampers a nice vacation like getting sick, and as the days grow older and colder, it's time to give your immune system a boost. Doctor Louis DePalma of the DePalma Wellness Cetner says our immune system is busy breaking down excess turkey, stuffing and alcohol instead of guarding us against pesky viruses.

He says, "During that time, we overeat, we put much more stress on the body's ability to breakdown and deliver nutrients to the body." So instead of McDonald's, hit up the vegetable aisle and fill up on garlic, spinach and peppers to charge up on antioxidants. And if you're heading to a holiday party, keep your eating and drinking in check.
