A new Task Force to curb drunk drivers is aiming to cut down on the amoung of drunk drivers in the Grand Valley.
The Colorado State Patrol, the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, the Colorado Department of Transportation and the police departments of Grand Junction in Fruita are all part of the task force which will pursue drunken drivers in areas with high amounts of violations.
State Trooper Ron Greasley says, "We just want people to be safe use the driver service use taxis have a designated driver, we know people are going to go out and celebrate but again we want to do it safely and responsibly."
The Task Force will continue to run drunk driving checkpoints each month, and they will have on this weekend at an undisclosed location.
