A request for a new trial by Michael Blagg, the man convicted of murdering his wife in their Redlands home in 2001, is one step closer to becoming a reality.
Michael Blagg first requested a new trial back in 2005, claiming that one of the jurors was legally blind. District Attorney, Pete Hautzinger, tells 11 News that at that time, the court of appeals had jurisdiction over the case because of a pending appeal.
Now that Blagg's appeal has been denied, the case has been returned to the original judge here in Mesa County. Judge Bottger will take up the case in the coming months.
