County Budget Less Than Last Years
The budget for Mesa County next year went down 2.8%. The budget for 2009 is now $177 million.
County officials say the reason for the decrease is, no surprise, because of the overall economy.
The county has kept its operating costs mostly the same - there weren’t any salary increases and that’s the main reason for the decrease.
Despite the economic woes that overall county revenues are expected to grow.
