Winter Cooling Down Pets
The Colorado Department of Agriculture wants to remind pet owners that even though pets have a built–in coat; they can still feel the effects of winter.
The CDA says that if you need a coat to stay warm, chances are that you need to protect your pets as well. Even though they have fur animals can still get hypothermia. One way to protect them is to keep them inside and if they can't be inside, at least have some shelter for them outside with some hay or a blanket in it.
Outdoor pets also need more calories to produce heat so make sure you have enough food and water available to them.
Also devices are now available to keep water dishes from freezing.
