The economic outlook for the state of Colorado isn't getting any brighter and with the holidays nipping at our heels, 11-News has some unique way for you to save some cash.

Angie Frisbie has two kids, Preston is five months old and Garret is five years old; Frisbie says she's always used cloth diapers because she says they are cheaper and better for the baby. Frisbee uses Tender Tooshies, a local company that delivers cloth diapers, she says the service cuts her monthly diaper bill in half.

Tender Tooshies delivers the no–pin cloth diapers weekly and picks up the dirty ones at the same time. Owner Melissa Matthews says this will save you green while being green. Matthews says 18–billion diapers are thrown in landfills each year "it's number three in the landfills behind newspapers It's huge." Matthews says there's another incentive, "on average babies in cloth diapers potty train a year earlier than those in disposable diapers. That's a year's worth of diapers, saving you roughly one–thousand dollars."

Another way people are pinching pennies is by fixing things like penny loafers instead of buying a new ones. This makes The Shoe Man, Carson Park, a busy man, he says, "we haven't seen this big of an increase in 10 years." At The Shoe Man, you can get your boots re–soled, your heels re–tipped and have your favorite shoes buffed and looking like new.

Park says many of his customers say taking their shoes to him is just plain cheaper than buying a new pair, "I think a lot of it is people right now just want to save what they can." Some people say from head to toe, and everywhere in between, every little bit helps.
