The Mesa County Worforce Center has just released job loss numbers from November.
The county is at 4.3 percent unemployment up from four percent in October.
The workforce center calls it a slowing of the economy and points to big losses in construction and energy as major factors.
But even though it's a big jump, officials say it could be worse.
"I don't think that we're at a point we need to be insane about this issue i think we need to be cautious, we need to be aware that it's coming and we need to be prepared," Mesa County Workforce Center Sue Tuffin told 11 News on Friday.
The unemployment rate in Mesa County is still far below the state and national averages.
Again mesa county is at 4.3 percent compared to Colorado at 5.8 percent, and the national rate, which is above 6.5 percent.
