Suspect Arrested for Killing Homeless Man
A man has been booked into the Mesa County Jail for on second degree murder. 43-year-old Michael Allan Bateman of Grand Junction was booked into jail Saturday night.
The arrest comes after after a suspicious death reported shortly before midnight on Friday. 46-year-old Todd Raymond Pierce was found on the west bank of the Colorado river in the 340 and Power road area. Police say Bateman was arrested after an autoposy showed that Pierce died from blunt force trauma.
