Denver (AP) A massive snowstorm has prompted winter storm warnings across Western Colorado and a blizzard warning in the Southwestern corner of the state.

Up to 20 inches of snow are predicted overnight, along with winds that could cause whiteout conditions. Gusts could reach 80 Miles per hour.

A weather forecaster in Grand Junction says “it’s going to be heck of a storm.”

And temperatures will fall through the day Friday, dipping into the single digits.

The winter storm in the west proved deadly for at least one Skier Thursday, as an avalanche killed a 21-year-old man at the Squaw Valley Resort in California.

Two skiers at the Mount Rose Ski Resort south of Reno, Nevada, disappeared Thursday afternoon. Authorities have talked to them by cell phone. But they hadn’t been located by nightfall.
