A Mesa County man admitted Monday morning to kidnapping an Orchard Mesa girl and sexually assaulting another young girl.
41-year-old Michael Byerrum faced a judge Monday morning where he pleaded guilty to several charges, including sexual assualt and kidnapping.
Prosecutors say they’re pleased Byerrum has taken responsibility for his actions.
“I think it’s a good resolution for the victims and the community,” says Tammy Eret, Deputy District Attorney
Byerrum faces a minimum of 64 years in prison.
He will be sentenced in February.
