GJ Chamber Want to Put New Oil & Gas Rules on Hold

The Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce is siding with other local business leaders and the oil and gas industry seeking to put new drilling regulations on hold for 18 months.

A representative from the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce says that the community is already seeing economical effects on the community from the new oil and gas rules passed just last month.

The rules have yet to be implemented and the moratorium would keep it that way until July of 2010.

Te legislature now needs to review the final rules before voting on the moratorium.

Te senate bill is backed by house representative Laura Bradford.
