An early morning fire in Fruita completely destroys a house and injures two fire fighters.
According to the Lower Valley Fire Department, crews were called out to the house on 20 road shortly after one this morning to a report of a chimney fire.
When crews arrived they could see flames shooting through the roof. There were three people inside the house at the time of the fire but everyone was able to get out safely.
One firefighter's neck was burned fighting the fire and another got a cut on his hand.
They are both doing fine this afternoon, but the house is considered a total loss.
Firefighters are looking at a malfunctioning fireplace as the cause of the fire.
