A Collbran ranch owner is facing several charges after the Division of Wildlife says he illegally shipped wild hogs.

Little Creek Ranch Owner Alan Baier got a summons for more than a dozen misdemeanors. The penalties carry fines of nearly $17 thousand and the possible suspension of hunting and fishing privileges. We first told you about the investigation in November, after feral hogs being shipped in and on the ranch tested positive for pseudorabies, a contagious virus.

The state bans possession of feral pigs in most cases, but little creek was allowed to have some because it was operating before the ban was imposed. The Little Creek Ranch has since had to kill more than 70 hogs.
