Abandoned Puppies Find New Homes

It was a rough start to life for four border collie puppies who were left for dead earlier this week. The cute little guys were found in a box suffering from frostbite, but today those abandoned brothers found a home of their own.

Mesa County Animal Services held a lottery for the puppies thursday morning. More than 60 people showed up to try to take one home. One of the new owners had been looking for a border collie when she heard about the puppies.

“Tuesday morning I thought, I have to go and see the boarder collies. And I got the pick of the litter, which is the one I wanted.” Said Debby Kelley, new owner.

The next step for the little guys is to visit the vet and get their shots. Then, sometime next week, the new owners will get to take their puppies home.
