It's a bike, it's a board, no it's a Slopecycle!
Avid mountain bikers who cannot ride in the winter, may have found a gift from the gods.
Harrison Brown is a professional rider of the Slopecycle, a snowboard with handlebars engineered in Los Angeles, CA.
The makers of the invention hopes it will take off into the mainsteam much like the snowboard did in the 1990's.
On Saturday, a few of the pro-riders met at Powderhorn Ski Resort to show off the goods.
"We just want to show Powderhorn that this is the next big thing, I hope they deicde jump on board," says Brown.
Three professional Slopecycle riders sliced up the mountain hoping the ski resort will allow the latest winter hobby on their trails. Right now, the "bikeboards" are allowed on six Colorado ski resorts including Aspen's Snowmass, Keystone Mountain and Copper Mountain.
The first Slopecycle was made about five years ago, and the company has sold thousands of them since, but this is Powderhorn's first experience, and if the attention they got today is any indication, the bikeboard may be the norm at the Grand Valley resort.
