There are new sex allegations against former pastor Ted Haggard; a male church volunteer says he and Haggard had a sexual relationship.
During Sunday’s service Pastor Brady Boyd, who took over the New Life Church in Colorado Springs after Haggard left, said he learned about the new claims in 2006, after the first allegation. Boyd says the congregation just wants to move on; “first of all, I want to tell you something from my pastor's heart to you that I'm sorry that this wound has been reopened for many of you. I'm very sorry. I've met with many of you, talked with many of you, prayed with many of you and
as a pastor it's been my hope for the 18 months that I’ve been here that this wound will heal and that we wouldn't have to revisit the unpleasant parts of our past. But unfortunately this week we've had to do that, and I want to tell you, I’m praying for you."
Haggard has not commented on the new allegation. In 2006, after a male prostitute claimed to have had a sexual relationship with him, Haggard admitted to quote "sexual immorality." The church settled with that man, and legally, cannot discuss the case.
