Officials are asking people to avoid the east entrance of the monument Thursday to allow a 260 ton crane to remove a precariously perched van.
On the 21st of January, a man drove his van off Rimrock Road near Red Canyon. When rescue crews arrived they found the van balancing off the side of a cliff.
The eastern entrance road will be temporarily closed between 6am-7am to allow the crane, which will take up both lanes to remove the vehicle. Rimrock Drive beyond the DS Road turn off to 16 1/2 road will be closed from 6am until the crane leaves the park, late in the afternoon.
Glade Park residents are advised to use Little Park Road for Thursday morning and afternoon commutes to avoid traffic delays.
Access to the park visitor center to Upper Liberty Cap trailhead will be accessable from the west entrance.
