Avalanche Victim being treated in GJ

A man is at the hospital tonight after being dug out of an avalanche in Telluride the man was skiing when he says he triggered an avalanche in Upper Bear Creek.

Luckily the slide was witnessed by a number of skiers in the area who were able to reach the 28–year–old Placerville man and dig him out in about five minutes. The rescuers said that the man was unconscious and not breathing when they dug his head out. He was taken to the Telluride Medical Center where he was stabilized and then immediately flown to Grand Junction for more medical care. He's sustained multi systems trauma, his current condition is unknown at this time.
